5th Block Guitar Lessons

Class is a beginner-level lesson that focuses on the fundamentals of the guitar and general music knowledge (notation, rhythm, harmony, ear training).

This class is a mix of full-group and individualized instruction. Students will learn ability-appropriate songs and practice exercises along with having the opportunity to select their own songs that they want to learn with my assistance. I can provide up to 2 guitars for the class, but having their own instrument is encouraged.

Tim has been performing and writing music for 25 years. His guitar background includes performing rock, pop, jazz, blues, and bluegrass. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Theory and Composition from the University of Mary Washington and a Master of Education degree from the University of Virginia. He currently teaches guitar, piano, and English with Albemarle County Public Schools.
