In this VEX GO Ocean Science Exploration unit, students take the wheel of the Advanced Hero Robot 2.0 to master real robotics skills through mission-driven challenges: precision teleop driving, mechanism control, and repeatable approach routines for picking up, placing, and manipulating game elements. Across progressive field stages, learners practice alignment, lift control, and sequencing to transport sensors, repair a pipeline, place a sensor on a Volcano, and execute complex multi-step actions like moving turbines, opening a clam, and delivering a pearl. Teams develop strategy and pit-crew habits—calibrating, inspecting, and optimizing their robot for speed and accuracy—while running timed match simulations on the full field. The focus stays on robotic performance: consistent navigation, efficient pathing, controlled actuation, and data-informed iteration to score more points with fewer errors.
