This six-session class uses ScratchJr to guide young learners from simple sequencing to multi-scene storytelling. Students start by building short programs that move characters with the Green Flag, then explore event-based starts (tap, messages) to trigger actions and switch scenes. They replace repeated steps with loops to create dances and patterns, and fine-tune timing, speed, and sounds to coordinate two characters. Next, they orchestrate chain reactions with broadcast messages across three characters, practicing clear event flow. The unit culminates in a mini-project—an original 20–30 second animation with 2+ scenes, multiple event types, and at least one loop—planned on a storyboard, peer-tested, debugged, and shared.
