Description

Join us at the beautifully restored Wayne Theatre for a student performance of The Drowsy Chaperone Jr.. Local teens make up the cast of this Broadway Junior adaptation of the Tony-winning musical comedy. The Drowsy Chaperone JR. is a loving satire of the Golden Age musical, featuring hysterical numbers and colorful characters.

Premise: A man shares with the audience his favorite record - the 1928 musical The Drowsy Chaperone. As he plays the record, the show comes to life in his apartment. Mix in two lovebirds on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan and a sleepy chaperone, and you have the ingredients for a show that will have everyone laughing!

The show is approximately 1 hour with a 10 minute Q&A.  The production is recommended for ages 10+ due to its adult themes and some mild language, though the humor and complexity may be best appreciated by older children and teens.

Keep your eyes peeled for CHEC student Liana Maccarelli in a supporting role!

*Note that this event falls during the day on Halloween when considering potential conflicts*
